Overview:
Despite decades of research, neuromuscular monitoring and reversal practices are still largely influenced by tradition and local habits rather than evidence-based medicine. As medical advancements continue to evolve, objective monitoring remains the only reliable method for ensuring adequate neuromuscular function.
Quantitative monitoring provides a more precise analysis of human physiology than visual observation, and recent technological improvements in neuromuscular monitoring challenge longstanding practices. With modern techniques, anesthesia care is becoming more precise—ultimately improving patient outcomes.
