Part 2: Challenging and Inspiring: Beyond Common Fall Prevention Practices
American Nurse Journal is thrilled to announce the second part of our two-part webinar series focused on enhancing nurses’ knowledge in patient fall prevention and the application of new best practices. This session will feature prominent patient safety experts Lillee Smith Gelinas, DNP, RN, CPPS, FNAP, FAAN, and Patricia A. Quigley, PhD, APRN, CRRN, FAAN, FAANP, FARN.

Course Description:

Approximately 32% of individuals who visit the ER due to a fall are hospitalized, while others are discharged. Are these "known fallers" at your hospital treated similarly to all patients at risk for falls? Or are clinical practices tailored to create individualized fall and injury prevention care plans based on the fall’s etiology and contributing factors? For those discharged from the ED to their prior destination, is a fall prevention care plan integrated into their post-discharge care management?

Part 2 of our Falls webinar series will continue the conversation (click here to view the online presentation) and showcase, through clinical case studies, best practices in fall and fall injury prevention that should become common practice in 2024 to reduce preventable falls:

  • Protecting patients from injury
  • Individualizing fall prevention measures
  • Incorporating a population-based approach to injury prevention
  • Mitigating and eliminating fall risk factors and protecting from injury – the true measures of success in an effective falls management program

Join us on September 26th at 1:00 PM (Eastern Time) to engage with our experts and discuss tactical and practical approaches to optimizing fall prevention in your institution.
