OpenStax is an educational initiative based out of Rice University, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization. At OpenStax, we believe learning is a public good and every learner has the fundamental right to pursue their education in areas that inspire them most.
What do we do? OpenStax supports affordable learning opportunities by offering a library of 70 high-quality, peer-reviewed, openly licensed textbooks for college courses. These textbooks are available for free on our website, making them accessible for students from day one of class.
To enhance learning and teaching, each textbook comes with its own unique suite of free instructor and student resources (like test banks, lecture slides, and LMS integration), a wide selection of education technology options, and so much more.
Since 2012, over 36 million students have saved $2.9 billion from using an OpenStax textbook in their course.
