Identifying plausible reasons regarding undesirable effects is a process termed root cause analysis (RCA). This process helps trace a (potential) problem to its origins to identify suitable resolutions. When appropriately and efficiently executed, the RCA tool can prove to be a powerful tool to prevent and solve underlying issues systemically – the process can be thought of as taking a proactive stance contrary to its counterpart, being reactive when issues arise.
