FSSC 22000 is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative as a robust program ensuring the safety of food products. Aligned with the International Standards Organization’s (ISO) High-Level-Structure, FSSC 22000 can seamlessly integrate with other ISO standards to increase an organization’s operating efficiency, reduce its environmental impact, and protect its workers, to promote regulatory compliance.
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) introduced the High-Level Structure (HLS) to give management system standards a uniform structure and similar core content. The initiative aims to improve the alignment of different ISO standards by means of a cross-standard structure.
The HLS also serves as a guideline for the revision or development of future standards. Over time, all ISO standards for management systems are intended to contain the same overarching structure, common core requirements and common terms and definitions.
