Suppliers in the IT & Telecom industry are under increasing pressure to improve ESG and sustainability performance from their internal and external stakeholders—and most regulation worldwide today focuses specifically on greenhouse gas (GHG) and climate risk disclosures. This presents many challenges depending on their internal competencies and knowledge of reporting categories and KPIs for the IT & Telecom industry. How can this be made easier?
21 major global brands in the IT & Telecom industry have signed on as Supply Chain Members with CDP, committing to request that all suppliers report GHG and climate risk data on the CDP Climate platform. That list continues to grow: Microsoft, Alphabet, Dell, Juniper Networks, NetApp, Telus, Amdocs, Arista Networks, AT&T, Autodesk, Cisco, Citrix, Cognizant, EQUINIX, HP, Intel, LinkedIn, ServiceNow, Verizon, and Western Digital.
If your company has not yet received a customer request to report to CDP Climate, you probably will soon. If your company has received a customer request and are hoping you can ignore it, you probably shouldn’t. More brands continue to join, and scores will increasingly be used to determine vendor status.
While this agreement on a single platform can simplify and streamline reporting for IT & Telecom suppliers, the initial reporting phase comes with many questions.
