Once an investigator has begun an audit or review, there’s little the carrier can do to influence the outcome. What can be discovered likely will be. However, a carrier can impact the result before the official notice is received and there is much to be done after the investigation is complete. Even if a satisfactory rating is received, there is risk that needs to be mitigated. There’s always room for improvement.
