Now that that's out of the way, I'd like to hand it off to our speaker for the day. Marsha floor is yours. Thanks Katherine. Hi everyone, my name is Marsha Calfee, an I'm the senior director for data, an analytics product strategy. Today I have the pleasure of sharing with you what we've been up to over the past year and what you have to look for to to do this. We're going to follow this agenda. First I want to lay a bit of foundation for you so you understand our long term vision and strategy. Next, I want to talk to you about some of the changes we've made with intelligence over the past year. After talking about intelligence, I want to transition over to what we're working on and what's in your future, and finally will end with a Q&A. So let's get started with our vision and strategy. Technology has indeed redefined communication. People no longer have to wait for years, months, weeks and days to receive information or a message. Today, text, emails, tweets, and personal messages can reach the recipient in just a matter of seconds and Justice. Communication has evolved overtime based on the technologies available, so has concur, strategy and product portfolio for data and Analytics over the past year. In particular, we have spent a considerable. Amount of time reevaluating our product portfolio and how well we're meeting our customers. Demands within the context of our strategy. In years past when people talked about our reporting solutions, one of the features mentioned was the number of reports we had. But as we all know, there's not a direct correlation between the number of reports you have and the value of actionable insights derived from the data. It is our belief that data and analytics is more than reports. It's about the value derived from the data and how those insights can be used to drive achievement of your business goals. We also believe that your experience working with data and analytics should not be difficult. One of the ways we can help make that a reality is to have Analytics seamlessly integrated into our product features an workflows and easily assessable to objectively guide your business decisions. Now that we know what are Northstar is, let's take a look at what we're doing to get there. For those of you new to concur or not familiar with our solution, let's first start by defining our product portfolio are portfolio consists of three different products are intelligent solution which is Cognos based. S MB Analytics, which is a solution developed specifically for Rs. MB customers and data access tools which include the intelligence extract. So let's now talk about a few of the changes in intelligence we made over the past year. As we have engaged with you over the past couple of years, one piece of feedback we received was at the user interface for analysis, and intelligence was very out dated in tired looking. This past year, we've put a lot of focus on addressing issues with the user interface and with navigation. We are in the process of standardizing the look and feel of a reportes which should provide a much cleaner. An modern look. Now, this project does not affect any of the content of the reports. Just the look and feel. The first reports we updated with the top 50 standard of reports that you run the most. Once we completed that folder, we started moving on to refreshing other reports and we're doing it folder by folder. You will know which reports have been updated by following the monthly release notes. Another refresh project was also in response to your feedback. We heard from you that it was difficult to understand how reports were created and what queries were used in what data fields were being used to pull the data. In response to that feedback, we did a refresh to the reports catalog. This project included identification of the data source map for each data item and definition of queries. For example, if there is a column in the report or prompt that says. Purchased by we let you know that the data source is a concatenation of the employee last name from the trip stable in the travel database with employee first name in the same table. Providing this type of information should make it much easier for you to be sure you have the right report and for when you modify an existing report. Over the past year we have made quite a few changes to the data model and reports details of which can be found in the monthly release notes. One report I want to highlight is the combined spend persona dashboard following our previous work with persona dashboards. We released the first version of the combined spin dashboard this year. With this dashboard, customers who use our expense an invoice product can get visibility into their total spin discretionary. An managed throughout the entire organization. Future enhancements to this report will include additional kepis on spend category detail. By the way, this report can be found in the persona dashboard folder. You may have heard some rumors about us upgrading to a newer version of Cognos. I'm here to confirm that we are indeed moving to Cognos 11 and this is a big item on a road map for later this year. There are several reasons for this upgrade while IBM is still supporting us on version 10.2 dot one, they're sunsetting this version an focusing on Cognus 11 by moving to Cognos 11, we are assured that we will have all the latest updates and security patches. In addition to the enhanced security, there are several other benefits for upgrading, including the ability to search the database model. Easier navigation, Anna better looking user interface. Let me show you a couple of Screenshots so you can see for yourself. As you can see from this slide, Cognos 11 provides you with a much more modern looking interface. Here we're looking at the landing pages for Cognos 10.2 dot one and Cognos 11. Let's look at some of the changes in navigation with Cognos 11. You won't have to guess what each icon is for. A right click on the name of a report in the report folder brings up a menu that gives you your options. With as you can see from this slide, the feedback we've received as we have tested Cognos 11 is very positive. Our testers think it's very intuitive and that you should be able to pick it up within just a couple of hours. With regard to subgrade, we will definitely be there to help you through the transition. First, you will receive a 30 day notification when we're upgrading your system. It won't be a situation where you log in one morning and see the new application without any forewarning. 2nd, we will be creating training videos and documentation to explain the differences and help you find your way through Cognos 11. If you have any questions or concerns about this. Please reach out to your account manager and have them contact me. The last thing I want to mention is what we're doing to all products across the entire company for the past couple of years. We've been very focused on preparing to move our cloud operations to the cloud, specifically AWS. We understand that the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data is vital to your business operations and our own success. Moving to a cloud provider with AWS not only extends our platform, but it bolsters our security. Performance and reliability. OK, we've covered our vision and strategy and also looked at what we've done and will be doing with our intelligence solution. Now let's start our look into the future and I'd like to start with just a little bit of background. Well, I'm not going to spend a lot of time talking about SMB Analytics because that's being covered in another session. I do want to mention it because of the importance and it has had in the development of our strategy back in the 2016 time frame. We spend a lot of time talking with customers like you and evaluating the feedback we received. What we heard about intelligence was that it looks old and tired looking and it's not real time. It's not too. Intuitive and it has a steep learning curve, an specifically from Rs MB customers. It's overwhelming and there's too much functionality that they don't use. In November 2017, we released a new proprietary solution for Rs MB customers. This solution was in near real time visually based with attractive dashboards and very easy to navigate and use. Our plan was to start small and then iterate on the product adding in features and datasets until we could replace intelligence. And once we reach parody with intelligence. Our goal was to move further up the maturity Continuum by adding in predictive and Prescriptive Analytics, as is the case with most acquisitions, it takes some time for the companies merging to get to a point where they moved to a single technology stat. But shortly after we release the SMB analytic solution we had the opportunity opportunity to evaluate ASAP analytics cloud, which is SAS analytics solution. Our evaluation of this new technology was very positive. What we learned is that by using this new technology solution, we would be able to leapfrog up the maturity continuum. Many of the features we provided our SMB customers were already part of the essay T Analytics cloud solution. the Gulf we set for providing a near real time solution and one that was visually based in interactive. All those things you mentioned you wanted to see changed in intelligence. We would be able to accelerate delivery on In addition to providing features like predictive and Prescriptive Analytics. So just like technology changed the path forward for communications, here is a perfect example of how technology changed the direction of how we were going to deliver a best in class data an analytic solution. Now with jump forward to mid year last year when the Intelligent Spin Management Group was created, the purpose of the I SM group was to provide a unified database an analytic solution for your spin data across three different lines of business is concur with tne spend data Arriba with direct and indirect procurement, spin data and field glass with services an external labor spend data. We felt that combining this data you would get. A more holistic view of your spend, get better control and age you in making more informed business decisions. In addition, the user experience would be vastly improved. You might be asking how all of this will work. Each of the business units will feed their data too. I SM where the data will be consolidated into the data warehouse cloud once data has been consolidated, will use a variety of technologies such as AI and machine learning to dedupe plans, normalized and further enrich the data then from their insights will be delivered via the front end ASAP. Analytics Cloud app. That is embedded in the various lines of businesses portal. So for us it will be embedded into the see T&E Portal. Content is made available based on the license software the customer has. For example, if you're a concur only customer, the only data you will see is concur specific data. However, if you are a concur and Arriba customer, then you will see concur specific and Arriba specific data as well as views containing a combined view of concur Anna Reba spend data. So even though the content delivered is different for each customer. Based on their license products, the front end application is the same regardless of how you access the content, whether it be through the concur portal, the Arriba portal or the fieldglass portal. You might be asking what if I'm not a customer of ASAP? How does this help Maine? While we're partnering with the I SM group to deliver a new enterprise an analytic solution, that doesn't mean we're not focused on what our customers at concur need. In fact, it's just the opposite. We have spent the past few years talking with you, understanding how you work with data, and making sure we know the business problems you were focused on. And as a result of these conversations, we have developed a very clear focus on the use cases we need to solve. The first use cases for those of you who need or want to analyze your Tihany data within the concur system similar to the way you're using intelligence today. This is where we will be embedding the I SM analytics application into the concur TNT portal. Now, even though the embedded version of analytics is developed using ASAP analytics cloud, it does not mean that you will have to buy a license for S AP analytics clouds. The only license that will be necessary is one that is the equivalent of intelligence. The second use cases for all customers who want to extract their concur data to analyze alongside other datasets in a third party application, no matter if you were S AP customer an want to get your data into a stand alone version of ASAP Analytics cloud or you are a non ASAP house and you want to get your data into Oracle power be I or any other third party application we will be providing you with an API that allows you to efficiently. Get your data out of concur and into another system. The development of this API will be one of the deliveries from the I SM group that we are working with. We are still driving a road map for the products and features that you need with an analytic solution where the originate yrs and drivers of the requirements for the version of ASAP Analytics cloud that gets embedded into the concur portal. The only difference is that we will be able to bring you more advanced features. Sooner. To give you a sense of what we have been working on an what you can expect with the new enterprise analytics solution, I've got a brief demo of the new system. Let's listen now. To give you a peek into some of the new and exciting functionality that we're working on to make available to all users, let's take a look at the smartest this technology and let's start with smart insights. Smart insights provides you with detailed insights with just a click of the mouse. It uses machine learning to quickly analyze your data based on the data element you select. In this example, if you right click on the Red Lufthansa Bar, then select the light bulb from the menu. Smart insights will be invoked and will return to you in just a matter of seconds. All these insights and a visualization. In today's world with intelligence, each one of these insights requires a query to be written In addition to having to create the visualization. It's a very time consuming process, but with smart insights. If you like the results and want to save it, you can simply add it to an existing dashboard with just one click. Another part of the smartest, this technology is search to insights. Search to incite, uses natural language query or conversational AI to provide you with the answers to your questions. All you have to do is type in your question and then search to incite uses autocomplete suggestions to match words or phrases in your question to measures and dimensions in your data, and, just like with smart insights, if you want to save this visualization to a dashboard. It can be done with a simple click of the mouse. On this slide, I've listed out some of the features that we're focused on delivering for you. Not all of these like multiple hierarchies will be part of the initial release that will come later. I think you can tell that by looking at this list we have listened to. What you have said that you want. Invest in class analytics applications. A couple I'd like to point out because I personally had many conversations with customers about them is the ability to drill through to entry level or employee level detail. The ability to create groups and assign content to those groups and the one I mentioned previously on multiple hierarchies. Do you remember this slide I showed you earlier? I'd like to expand upon it a bit. Besides delivering, predictive and Prescriptive Analytics, we want to take it a step further. We know that you do not stay in the analytics application all day long. You're working in other apps, and if you're anything like me, you're in outlook more than any other app. Our goal here is to make it easy for you to have the information you need when you need it. So if you're scheduling or approving a trip request, we want you to have the advantage of knowing. What an average trip would cost to the destination your traveler is booking? Or if you are approving a purchase order, you will know things like what has been the average cost of a widget over the past six months or year, or what approved vendor provides a better negotiated rate for the same item. The other part of this is that where it makes sense, we want to automate the execution of actions. We are now about ready for Q&A to get this going. Let me start out by addressing a couple of questions that I know is on everyone's mind. The first question is what's the plan for conversions from intelligence? That's a valid question, but just a little bit tricky to answer at this time. So let me just tell you what I do know. Converting your data to the new platform won't be an issue. It is something that we will handle for you. Now we're not exactly sure how we're going to handle custom report conversion. This is a huge topic of discussion and we have not yet settled on the strategy for this. What makes this particularly difficult is that we will be trying to convert apples to oranges tabular reports to visual dashboards. If we do our job right like what we did with SMB Analytics. There won't be a need for as many custom reports. The functionality provided with a new solution also allows you to easily and quickly do data discovery. An ad hoc analysis so you won't have to create a custom report just to answer those questions that pop up. Also, a big part of our design strategy is to make data more accessible and understandable for the average business users so they can get answers to their questions when they need it. It's a move to a much more realistic self service model. What we also know is that we will need to provide some really good documentation and training something that will help you know where to find the content from a specific Intelligence Report in the new dashboard we're working through how the conversion strategy will play out, so once we know we will communicate that to you. The second question is about change management. We know that making a change to a new solution like this is not as simple as a flick of a switch. Those of you who have custom and scheduled reports will need time to figure out how you're going to transition to this solution. You will need to figure out who you want to set up as users and the security and data access available to each user. Since this will be an area we are enhancing in the new solution. Besides the training and enablement content we will provide you being able to play around in the new system will give you the opportunity to plan for the change so to assist with that, we will allow you to run parallel systems for a period of time. We are working out the details of what that means, but we do know this will be important for you to properly handle change management at your company. This concludes the content presentation of this session. If you were to ask me what are the key takeaways from this session, I would like you to walk away knowing this. The move to a WS will provide you with a much more secure and reliable platform, an one that enables us to be more innovative in what we were able to deliver to you with regard to the Cognis 11 upgrade. You'll have plenty of notice and we will support you throughout the process. A new best in Class Enterprise Analytics solution is inside. With this new application we are delivering a solution that addresses the need you have expressed to us. It's in near real time. There's a modern updated universe user interface that is dashboard based. It includes augmented analytics features including AI machine learning, an conversational AI, and it has the features you been asking for, like drill through to entry level. Or employee level details and the ability to create roles and assign content to groups. Lastly, we will continue to support intelligence until such time is all customers have moved over to the new application. The actions we are taking today are definitely moving us closer to the attainment of our 2023 vision of integrated and sophisticated data. An analytics in every product, every feature and every decision. And Lastly, before opening this up to your questions, please don't forget to complete the survey that Katherine mentioned earlier. Thanks so much Marcia for that great information. We're going to go ahead and get into some of your questions now. Please feel free to continue sibiti those into the Q&A Widget if we don't get to your questions today will be sure to follow up with you. And if you aren't able to stay for Q&A, do please respond to the survey before you go in the widget that looks like a clipboard. So with that, let's go ahead and dive into some of those questions. Alright, so let's take a second to look through these questions that were submitted and start going through some of these Murcia. There was a lot of questions around, God knows. So get ready. There's going to be a whole cognos section. OK, uhm, let's pick one to start. So will there be a cost increase going to Cognos 11? No cost increase. This is just an upgrade and. It should be totally Seamless to the customers so handled behind the scenes, but it's not a change in the application. Licensing is so no increase. OK will their self created reports move over as well? Yes, it's like I said, the only changes that you will see with this is more on the UI. Uh, so none of the underlying data or reports will be impacted by this upgrade. OK, couple questions around the timing. When is this all happening? Um, we're trying to figure that out right now, so we should know. I would say probably within a month or so when it happens. As you know, with in SAP guidelines we don't talk about anything that is not within the next two quarters, so we're trying to get this narrow down, and so you should monitor the road map. Plus there will be that 30 day notification when it does. Does happen when the migration is being scheduled for you, so it's not going to be something where you wake up one morning and all of a sudden it's different. OK, and do they have to be on next Gen UI in order to upgrade the cognis 11? No, totally different. All right? See. I think this is sort of the same, probably is that reports question, but will the transition effect their current data? No no. Thanks. All right? How does this new data model that leverages concur in Arriba work with S4 Hana? Will we have a single reporting point for actual system of record ERP information? We're currently working out the details of how the integration with S4 hana will work on the new platform, but the goal is yes to have that S for data in there along with the Arriba feel class and concur data, but I don't have any more specifics at this time. OK, this one I hope you know it was referencing something that was on the screen, but this is the travel and expense analytics being shown on the screen right now. Currently available to professional edition customers only or no K2 professional edition customers, right? What you were seeing on the screen is a product that is in development right now and this is the product that will eventually replace intelligence. When we do release this product there similar to the way it is. With intelligence you know there is a free version called analysis via called cognitive intelligence, and it those applications run both on standard and professional addition, so the same will apply. They will work with standard and professional editions and there will be a free Annabi up version of the new analytics platform. All right? When will concur be moving away from Cognos for larger clients? The UM? So I think you mean, uhm, when will we be releasing this new analytics platform that we showed today? Again, we're right in the midst of reviewing the requirements with our R&D team so that they can come up with the timeline and as soon as we know that we will be publishing that on our road map. I think it's fair to say that it's not within the next two quarters that you will see this. Got it. Let's see, um, will the dashboard information pertaining to the specific area. T&E, procurement, etc. Particularly in the spend by suppliers. The answer is yes, the way it will work is that there will be content in the new platform and it is based on the products that you are licensed for. So if your license just for concur, you'll only see concur data in dashboards. If you are licensed for multiple products, you will be able to see content that is specific to each line of business, so that's concur specific. This specific and feel class specific. In addition, there will be additional content that is showing combined views of the data for the product that you have licenses too, so it's kind of like 4 pieces to it. A data set for each of the lines of business and then a combined data set. But it will all be part of the same platform. Perfect thank you, Marsha. We're gonna keep going through these fast and furious, so you're doing awesome thanks so much. Um, will we be able to access AWS directly? For example, will we be able to connect directly to visualization tools such as tableau using Amazon redshift connector? Um? Well, we don't have anything to do with. You know what you're able to connect to from your company now. Our cloud operations will be running on a WS that is true, but the features that we provide in our analytics tools don't include working with other a WS types tools and features that are available, so it's very different. OK. With the future of getting the API set to pull data into other systems, will Oracle Fusion ERP be supported? Yes, the idea with the API that we will be releasing will allow you to export your data into other third party applications, whether it's an Oracle power BI, tableau or are also into a stand alone version of ASAP analytics cloud. OK. At what about bursting on the new platform? Will they be functionally similar? That's such a good question. We know that customers are really are very reliant on bursting when they're using intelligence. I can't tell you exactly how it will function in the new platform, but we are taking all of the use cases that we're aware of for the bursting function, and we're making sure that you have the same ability in the new platform. That you currently have with bursting, so I can't give you the details on how it will act other than the fact that that is part of our requirements for the new application. Hey. Will they have the option to keep Cognos or is there a hard date to be moved away from Cognos? Eventually everyone will be required to move over to the new platform that generally the way that we work conversions is that we start with an opt in process. So those customers that are most interested in moving over to the new system will be the ones that raise their hands and will work with him first. But at some point in time there will be a mandate that all customers have to be on. The new platform. That'll be several years out, though. Got it. Uh, is there an added cost to have Arriba de to feed into our dashboard? We currently just got Arriba an already. Have concur with the new platform. There will be a different licensing model in terms of right now you have your contract with the Reba is separate from your contract with concur. We were working on the pricing and licensing model right now for the new platform. And so I don't know the specifics of it, but the licensing will change, and so once you move over to the new platform and we see that you are an arriba, Anna concur customer, then the appropriate licensing that allows you to see um datasets from both lines of business will be part of your license when you move over. So it's not like you're going to go and have to. Do another Arriba license or do another concurrent license separately? It's going to be handled jointly, but I just don't know all the details of that yet. Got it, um, this one from Jessica is if we only use concur and Arriba but not fieldglass, do we still have the dashboard abilities and the external workforce tab just won't exist. The functionality of the Reba is not going away, just like the functionality in concur will not be going away, so when you log in to each of these applications, you'll still be able to do everything that you can do today. The only thing that changes will be how analytics is provided to you, and so, um. That will be the the different component to it, but your functionality in your line of business applications will still remain. Perfect thank you. Um, when will an API become available so we're able to extract expense info that is just like what we're working on the timeline for the new analytics platform. That API is part of that process as well, so don't have the date on that yet. It is something just like this new analytics platform that is high priority for us, so again, you'll need to just monitor are road Maps. And of course, when we have those details available, we will be communicating that to our to your account managers. They will be aware of it and so that should be something that you should be able to talk to your account manager about as well. OK, so this one is missing a little bit of context, but thinking you might be have to do with the transition. How do we let you know if we're interested? If you're talking about, uh, how you're interested in converting over to the new platform, what you need to do is speak to your account manager and then have them reach out to the data and analytics team we are. Starting to work on the requirements and details around beta testing and early adoption an we are maintaining a list of customers who are interested and so you need to reach out to your account manager. Have your account manager reach out to the data and analytics team. If you reach out to. The two people you need to. Know about is Tiffany Redmond and Jessica German so if you just make note of those and have your account manager reach out to one of those two ladies they can get your name on the list and then what will happen is as we know the details of the beta testing in early adoption program an as we get nearer to starting that we will be reaching back out to all of the the customers who have signed up for it and will. Determine at that time if it's still a good fit for what we're trying to do at that time. But the first thing is just to get your name on the list so that we know you're interested. I had an I just saw question come in at sick and we repeat the names of the two ladies that's Tiffany Redmond. And Jessica, German. Alright, thank you, Marsha. Um, get another one. Several of these tabular reports are for socks control and audit purposes. Can we confirm that all of these reports will be portable to the new environment? Um? The yesterday I don't know how to say just a flat yes or no. Let me just answer it this way and I think we understand that there is a need for some of those tabular report San like you mentioned for socks control. What you may not have seen in the demo that we did have the new platform is that there are lots of different ways that you can visualize the data in the new platforms and so one of the and I'll call it a widget. One of the widgets that you can create or that we. We can create an put on the dashboard would be something that looks like a tabular report. So uhm, I think the safest answer is yes, that will transport over an. You will have that ability to export that data out who it fell in PDF as well. Perfect thank you so much Marcia. So with that, I think we've gotten around to most of the questions today and are running short on time, so anything that we did not get too, we will be sure to follow up with you via email. There are a lot of other, um, different opportunities going on right now during this virtual event, so make sure to stop by our knowledge desk. There's a resource section with a lot of good links to things like the presentations that are taking place. Copies of the slides for those and some links to different training documents and things like that, so be sure to check those out. I want to thank Marcia for your presentation today and everyone helping answer our audience questions and thank you everyone for joining today and have a great afternoon. Thanks everyone.
