The slit lamp is the one piece of equipment that touches each of our patients during the ophthalmic examination. Advances in digital technology now make it possible to quickly and easily record still and video images for use in patient education and treatment compliance. This program will feature imaging options beyond the basic thin slit using the range of Haag-Streit slit lamps. Illumination techniques including broad beam, tangential, scatter, retro, iris transillumination, fluoresceinstaining and imaging with a gonio lens will be presented with an emphasis on how the variety of slit lamps and imaging systems can be used to reveal and record clinically significant aspects of various anterior segment pathology.
