Course Description: Environmental Site Assessments is a one-hour course designed to introduce participants to the purpose and process of site assessments pertaining to the insurance industry. Environmental due diligence standards, such as the ASTM standard, AAI regulations, and certain state regulations, affect all organizations and individuals involved in evaluating contaminated properties. For the insurance industry, these requirements affect both the underwriting and claims adjusting business, including policy exclusions and errors and omission. This course provides a detailed discussion regarding environmental site assessments, their history and regulation, and their impacts on the insurance industry, with case studies and examples used for illustrative purposes.
