Multiple missing, damaged or decayed teeth cause difficulty in mastication, speech and prevents the patient from having an aesthetic smile. It can also have a long term impact on the general health condition. Early treatment and full mouth rehabilitation is an effective way of restoring teeth, appearance, quality of life and self-esteem. In these cases, it is important to understand the role of treatment planning and lab communication to restore the patient’s function and aesthetics. With the advancements in dentistry and the advent of digital technology, using a series of case examples, Dr Thomas Giblin will be sharing new tips and techniques that caters to the different complex case scenarios using intra-oral scanners to deliver the best possible outcome for patient satisfaction.
Key learning objectives:
Dr Giblin graduated from the University of Sydney’s Bachelor of Dentistry with Honors in 2004. He then worked in private practice for 2 years, before getting accepted to the University Of Texas Health Science Centre at San Antonio in their Graduate Advanced Prosthodontics 3 year residency program. Whilst there he gained a broad range of experience - learning both traditional and cutting edge techniques.
Dr Giblin is interested in many areas of dentistry, with a heavy focus on dental implants, occlusion and aesthetic dentistry. He is also very interested in the technical aspect of prosthodontics and has his own full service dental laboratory with the latest CAD/CAM technology.
Dr Giblin is also the member of many dental societies in Australia and overseas. He lectures extensively both locally and internationally; and regularly runs his own educational programs at his practice in Mona Vale on Occlusion, Implants, Advanced Treatment Planning and Removable Prosthodontics.
In his free time, Dr Giblin enjoys travelling, boating and endlessly throwing tennis balls for his pups - Kelpie and Millie.
