Course Description: Analyzing Vehicle Fires is a one-hour presentation that reviews the process of analyzing a typical vehicle fire loss. While the goals of vehicle fire examination are basically the same as with structural fires, the path to accomplishing them can be significantly different. This course is designed to help the participant understand how and why vehicle fires occur, the procedures used to determine their causes, and the characteristics common among them. Participants will learn to ask “what is, or was, in that location to cause ignition?” in order to establish the fire’s ignition sequence. Proper procedures for documenting a fire are also discussed.
