Understanding the cell makeup of a biological sample can be key to deciphering differential gene expression analysis. In this webinar, we describe a method for quantifying individual cell types by identifying marker genes whose expression correlates with the abundance of a single cell population. We have used this method to define signatures for 14 different immune cell types and have included these signatures in gene expression panels that span oncology, immunology, and immuno-oncology. We took this concept further and defined gene expression signatures for distinct cell types encountered in neuroscience: neurons, astrocytes, microglia, oligodendrocytes, and endothelial cells. We will demonstrate the use of nSolver Advanced Analysis software to quantify the relative abundance of these cell types using this unique cell profiling feature, and will highlight real-life use cases of this analysis tool.
