How one develops critical thinking skills in the medical environment has been the focus of numerous empirical studies. From these studies, it has been suggested that the use of case examples that guide one through a series of decisions with direct feedback about those decisions is one method used to develop these skills. This webinar will present four case studies that will use this method in a series of four adult patients with dysphagia with diagnostically challenging presentations. All of these cases were referred by a physician into an outpatient setting, however one may see similar case across multiple settings.
The format for each case will follow a general progression starting with the patient’s history, what additional information might be necessary, what one would do next, an imaging study, interpretation of the study, what would you do next, and recommendations for treatment to include any referrals._1593891950255
