As iPhones. iPads and Android mobile devices continue to proliferate, investors are becoming more dependent on them for the consumption of IR information. At investor conferences, analyst days, and other events, almost everyone in attendance possesses some sort of mobile device. It is for this reason alone that investor relations professionals must consider having a mobile communications strategy.

Meet the Presenters

Neil Russell
Vice President, Investor Relations Sysco
Neil Russell has more than 10 years of IR leadership experience at two different Fortune 500 firms. He joined Sysco in 2007 where he is the vice president of investor relations. He is responsible for the company’s investor outreach efforts and for its sustainability programs. He began his career in 1995 with America West Airlines, holding various positions in strategic planning and revenue management. He has also led the investor relations team at Delta Air Lines where he served nine years in various roles of increasing responsibility including director, financial analysis and positions within strategic planning and market analysis prior to joining Sysco. Among other career highlights, Neil led the financial communication efforts for Delta Air Line’s successful bankruptcy reorganization and directed their NYSE IPO. He was named one of Treasury and Risk’s top 40 financial executives under 40 in 2009 and is a frequent lecturer at industry conferences and author of numerous company publications. Neil earned a bachelor's degree from Arizona State University, and holds an MBA from New York Institute of Technology. He serves on the advisory board of the Sustainable Food Lab.


Richard Repetto, CFA
Principal, Equity Research Sandler O’Neill + Partners, L.P.
Richard Repetto is a Principal of Sandler O’Neill + Partners, L.P. His research coverage includes the eBrokerage, Execution Venues and eSpecialty Finance Sectors. Mr. Repetto has received numerous accolades for his equity research. He has earned numerous industry awards, including Analyst of the Year in 2010 by Financial Times/Starmine. Mr. Repetto was previously a Managing Director at Putnam Lovell NBF. This position followed his work at Lehman Brothers, where he established the firm’s research coverage of the Internet Financial Services Sector. Mr. Repetto holds a B.S. in General Engineering from the United States Military Academy, and an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.


Richard Karpinski
Senior Analyst, Yankee Group
Rich Karpinski is a Senior Analyst with Yankee Group's Network Research Group with expertise in mobile service provider and mobile ecosystem issues. Karpinski focuses heavily on mobile operator business models, service delivery strategies and the overall dynamics of the mobile ecosystem, including the interaction of carriers and providers of over-the-top applications, services and capabilities. Before joining Yankee Group, Karpinski was Editor-in-Chief of Connected Planet (formerly Telephony), where he led a staff in covering the service provider market. He has spent a career covering high-tech markets – both telecom and enterprise IT for publications including Interactive Age, Communications Week, Information Week and Network Computing, while also spending time on the other side of the fence working in marketing for supply chain software provider E2open and as an analyst for Net Market Makers.
