The IRS Large Business and International (LB&I) Division’s new approach to corporate and individual examinations using compliance campaigns is now officially underway. LB&I is using issue-based examinations and a compliance campaign process in which the organization decides which issues that present risk require a response in the form of one or multiple treatment streams to achieve compliance objectives. The AICPA is partnering with the IRS to discuss two of LB&I’s campaigns. Participants will gain an understanding of the history and reasoning behind the selection of these campaigns. LB&I’s Sharon Porter, Director of Treaty and Transfer Pricing Operations, and Pam Drenthe, Director of Withholding and International Individual Compliance, will conduct this webcast.
