What’s wrong with sensor fusion? Why do we need to expand our view of this fundamental capability and in which direction do we go?

This webcast will help you understand the requirements, challenges and ecosystem for enabling context aware mobile devices and applications.

On Dec. 11, 2012 at 8.00 AM PST

Sensor enabled devices and environments can observe the tangible world and interact with the digital world to access public and private information such as emails, GPS location, weather, transit schedules, etc. The quantity of data we have access to is immense and widely varied. Some companies, being domain experts in a given field, are already bringing the first wave of this information to users in the form of specialized services and databases. However, the future context aware applications being imagined today will require integrating these various domains in a way that has not yet been fully realized by the marketplace. A few concrete steps are being taken today, however, most of the requirements for these future applications are still to be defined and the challenges more clearly identified.

From our core competencies in motion processing and sensor fusion, Movea is now expanding to embrace the integration of additional sensors (e.g. pressure, camera, light, audio and temperature, etc.) as well as other types of data from the mobile device and the cloud. To enable the ecosystem, Movea is developing a platform of processing engines, developer tools and data models. This will allow for semiconductor vendors, mobile device OEMs and applications developers to easily integrate and extend these building blocks, thereby adding their own unique value to create smarter mobile devices, applications and services.
