Mooresville has been called the “de facto national model” for digital education and its professional learning opportunities are a big part of its transformation. The 6,000-student district began its voluntary summer institute in 2008 with 85% participation. The district also doubled the time teachers spend learning during the year, increasing its early release days to 10. The district continues to draw thousands of visitors each year from around the country, and the around the world. For more information, visit digitalconversion.mgsd.k12.nc.us
