Overview of NPRM (CMS-2333-P) Application of MHPAEA to Medicaid and CHIP
April 24, 2015, 2:00 to 3:00 PM EST
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) invite you to join us for a webinar titled “Overview of NPRM (CMS-2333-P) Application of MHPAEA to Medicaid and CHIP.”
Recently, CMS announced a proposed rule to align mental health and substance use disorder benefits for low-income Americans with benefits required of private health plans and insurance. The proposal applies certain provisions of the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA) of 2008 to Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). The Act ensures that mental health and substance use disorder benefits are no more restrictive than medical and surgical services.
The goal of the webinar is to inform consumers and providers about the details of the proposed rule and how to submit comments. The proposed rule is currently published at the Federal Register. The deadline to submit comments is June 9, 2015.
