The GASB Proposal on Leases: A Webinar for Users of State and Local Government Financial Information

The Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) is pleased to announce a webcast on its Preliminary Views, Leases. The areas covered will include:
  1. Background of the project
  2. The GASB’s fundamental approach to leases
  3. How lessees and lessors would measure and report the assets and liabilities related to their lease arrangements
  4. What information about leases governments would present in the notes to the financial statements
  5. A question and answer period.

Speakers: Dave Bean, GASB director of research and technical activities; Deborah Beams, GASB practice fellow

Learning Objectives: At the end of this program, participants will have a general understanding of the proposals contained in the Preliminary Views and be prepared to respond to a brief survey seeking their views on the proposals.

Participants will have the opportunity to email questions to the speakers during the event.
