The GASB Proposal on Leases: A Webinar for Users of State and Local Government Financial Information

The Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) is pleased to announce a webcast on its Preliminary Views, Leases. The areas covered will include:
- Background of the project
- The GASB’s fundamental approach to leases
- How lessees and lessors would measure and report the assets and liabilities related to their lease arrangements
- What information about leases governments would present in the notes to the financial statements
- A question and answer period.
Speakers: Dave Bean, GASB director of research and technical activities; Deborah Beams, GASB practice fellow
Learning Objectives: At the end of this program, participants will have a general understanding of the proposals contained in the Preliminary Views and be prepared to respond to a brief survey seeking their views on the proposals.
Participants will have the opportunity to email questions to the speakers during the event.
