At UC Davis, they were faced with the challenge of how to drive better outcomes on a shoestring budget to support various groups within the institution. They evaluated the cloud and how it can help facilitate the generation, dissemination and advancement of knowledge. And through the use of Microsoft Azure, they were able to harness the cloud to develop campus-wide applications and ensure high availability, data security and data management for high peak usage while using the platform to drive increased developer productivity within their small technical team.

Join us as we explore how, through the use of cloud technology, institutions can drive automation, scale IT capacity, reduce costs and drive data efficiency all at once. In this session you’ll hear directly from UC Davis on three specific examples of how they were able to reduce the burden of faculty/staff/students through technology by building their application infrastructure in the cloud. They became IT heroes by providing better reliability and availability while driving cost savings. Following this session you’ll walk away with the knowledge of:

  • How to efficiently build campus-wide applications with high-availability to enable efficiency of various operations
  • How to increase developer agility and productivity when moving to the cloud
  • How data security, protection and privacy are reconciled when your data moves to the cloud

This event is sponsored by Microsoft and hosted by The Chronicle of Higher Education. All content presented during the webinar was provided by the University of California, Davis.
