New GC and FTIR Methods for the Analysis of Alternative Motor Fuels

Over the last decade a number of gas chromatographic (GC) and FTIR methods were developed and put into use for the characterization of alternative fuels. Recent changes in these fuels have prompted changes in these methods. Additionally, the rise of a next generation of alternative fuels has necessitated the development of new GC methods to test product quality. This webinar will discuss the changes in existing methods and the details of new methods. Agilent GC solutions to meet the current analysis requirements will also be presented.

Biofuel blending in petroleum based fuels is increasingly measured by FTIR in both in-lab and portable applications. The new and existing pre-calibrated FTIR methods will be described along with their representative sampling interface. The trade-offs for each FTIR technique and quality analysis of the pure biofuels will be presented.
