5 Reasons to Secure Your Business Communications in the Cloud

Date: Wednesday, July 30, 2014
Time: 11:00 AM PDT / 2:00 PM EST
Duration: 60 minutes

Sponsored by: 8x8, Inc., hosted by Enterprise Connect and NoJitter

A myth persists that premise-based unified communications and contact center solutions are more secure than similar solutions in the cloud. Join this webinar to learn why that mode of thinking is outdated and how you can use the cloud to improve security for your business.

In this webinar, you will learn about:

  • Security that’s built-in and managed at every operational level
  • Secure authentication of all end points
  • Available encryption for data at rest and data in motion
  • Compliance with exacting security standards, i.e., FISMA, HIPAA, PCI that may be essential for your business to operate
  • Complete system resiliency, redundancy and disaster recovery

    Presenters:

    Dr. Brent Kelly
President of KelCor, Inc. and a Telecommunications Council Member (consultant) at Gerson Lehrman Group.

Dr. Kelly focuses on the unique intersection of unified communications, social business, cloud services, video and mobility. Dr. Kelly provides strategy and counsel to key clients including Chief Information Officers, Chief Technology Officers, investment analysts, venture capitalists, technology policy executives, sell-side firms and technology buyers.

Prior to being an independent analyst and consultant, Brent served for two years as vice president and principal analyst at Constellation Research and for 10 years as a partner at Wainhouse Research, where he was the primary author of most of the firm's unified communications reports and forecasts. Dr. Kelly is a regular presenter at Enterprise Connect (formerly VoiceCon), the communications industry trade show where his well-respected, tutorials have covered topics such as hosted and managed unified communications services and Microsoft Lync/OCS technical deep dives. He also helped organize the phenomenally successful WebRTC track at Enterprise Connect.

    Huw Rees
VP Customer Advocacy and Referral Programs, 8x8, Inc.

Huw Rees serves as 8x8's Sr. Vice President of Business Development and was previously Chief Executive Officer of Centile, Inc., a former subsidiary of 8x8 where he led the development of the hosted PBX technology from 1999 to 2004. Rees was responsible for the change in 8x8's marketing and sales away from an OEM approach to a focus on end-users including both consumers and small businesses for hosted, cloud based communications services. He has been closely involved with telecommunications technology for over 25 years, beginning with Marconi PLC in 1985, where he opened and managed their Western US sales office. He has also held management roles with Plessey Inc., and with Mitel Corporation. Rees received a B.Sc.
