Webinar Abstract:

When Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) comes into effect on July 1, businesses and other organizations will no longer be able to send “commercial electronic messages” — like emails, e-newsletters and text messages — without the recipient’s prior consent.

As penalties for non-compliance are severe, with fines of up to $10 million per violation, it’s important to make sure you are aware of the new requirements when it comes to sending commercial messages — whether they are sent from within Canada or outside of Canada to Canadian recipients.

This one-hour webinar will cover:

  • Overview of CASL and its key requirements
  • Types of messages to which CASL applies (or are exempt)
  • How CASL impacts businesses outside of Canada
  • Penalties for non-compliance
  • What you need to do to prepare for July 1
