How to Recruit Experienced Workers

Many employers continue to experience skill shortages in many key areas of their organizations. According to a May 2013 SHRM Workplace forecast of HR professionals, two of the top trends HR professionals rated as most likely to have a major impact in the next five years are a shortage of skilled workers (73%) and large numbers of Baby Boomers leaving the workforce at around the same time (68%). Experienced workers (those with over 20+ years of experience) are potential solutions for these staffing challenges. However, oftentimes these skilled workers are overlooked for various positions due to misconceptions and myths about older workers. Join AARP for a free webinar that will help hiring managers and recruiters understand:
  • The changing demographics of the workplace
  • Manpower Hiring Outlook for Q3
  • Myths about experienced workers
  • How to screen applications from experienced workers
  • What experienced workers are looking for in an organization from AARP 2013 Staying Ahead research
  • Other resources from AARP
