Tech Insider: Designing RF Antennas for Wearable Electronics and The Internet of Things (IoT)

Monday, 28 April 2014  2:00 PM EDT, 11:00 AM PT, 18:00 UTC/GMT

Join us and hear from industry pioneers at Synapse, who will share their best practices for designing products that are making IoT a reality. In this webinar, you will learn how Synapse used ANSYS to address simulation and solve issues related to Antenna Design, Design of Reliable Wireless Systems, and how you can use a similar approach in your work.

SPEAKER: Mike Schaaf, RF Manager, Synapse Product Development
Mike Schaaf is an electrical engineer with 17 years of experience in product design, test equipment and ASIC development.  Mike attended UC Davis where he earned his BS in electrical engineering. Throughout his career he has developed expertise ranging from ASIC development, mixed signal PCB and chip design, RF circuits and antennas, MEMs and laser control as well as development of embedded process boards. He is currently the RF manager at Synapse Product Development where he and his team are designing antennas for wearable products for Fortune 500 companies and start-ups alike.
SPEAKER: Sudhir Sharma, Director of High Tech Industry and Strategy and Marketing, ANSYS, Inc.
Sudhir Sharma is the director of high tech industry strategy and marketing at ANSYS. Prior to joining ANSYS, he served in key managerial and technical roles at MathWorks, Texas Instruments, Cirrus Logic, and Compaq Computer Corp. Sudhir has designed more than a dozen ASICs and authored 19 U.S. patents that cover wireless communication, computer networking, video and image processing, and semiconductor memory design.
