Understanding Why Strategic and Operational Cyber Intelligence Matters for Network Security

Thursday, March 27, 2014
02:00 PM EDT

Duration: 1 hour

The cyber security challenges facing organizations will continue to demand an increased share of attention and funding from government and industry leaders and policymakers. Until now, most of the focus has been on reactive network security and tactical cyber intelligence to address the “on-the-network” fight. There has been little discussion about the strategic and operational levels of cyber intelligence and why these are important. Consequently, C-suite executives, managers, and senior leaders usually are not exposed to the kind of cyber intelligence that will enable effective evaluation and decision-making about their organizational risk management programs.

The Cyber Intelligence Task Force of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA) has been studying Strategic and Operational Cyber Intelligence and will release its findings as a whitepaper on Strategic Cyber Intelligence on Thursday, March 27, 2014.

Mark your calendar and register below to join INSA and Nextgov for this digital event to expand your understanding of Operational Cyber Intelligence, including:
  • How to anticipate network threats and take actions to mitigate them
  • How operational cyber intelligence bridges the broad, non-technical nature of strategic cyber intelligence and the narrow, technical discipline of tactical intelligence.
  • Operational indications and warnings (I&W)
  • Examples of how to apply cyber intelligence analysis to pro-active network defense initiatives
  • How to use current cyber intelligence to architect more fortified future IT infrastructures
