Meet the Experts  Ken SimonsonChief Economist, The AGC of America Ken Simonson has been the chief economist of the Associated General Contractors of America since 2001. His weekly summary of economic news relevant to construction, The Data DIGest, goes to 47,000 subscribers. Ken was the 2012-2013 president of the National Association for Business Economics, the professional organization for individuals who use economics in their work. He has 40 years of experience analyzing, advocating and communicating about economic and tax issues. Ken has a BA in Economics from the University of Chicago and an MA in Economics from Northwestern University.  Kermit BakerChief Economist, AIA Kermit Baker is the chief economist for the American Institute of Architects. In this capacity, he analyzes business and construction trends in the U.S. economy and examines their impact on AIA members and the architectural profession. Kermit originated the AIA Architecture Billings Index, as well as the AIA Consensus Construction Forecast Panel. He received his Master's degree in Urban Planning from Harvard University and holds a Ph.D. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the same field. In 2002, Kermit was named honorary member of the AIA..  Bernard MarksteinChief Economist, Reed Construction Data Bernard M. Markstein is the chief economist for Reed Construction Data. Dr. Markstein has extensive experience analyzing, interpreting and forecasting commercial construction, housing, real estate, financial markets and regional markets. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Brown University and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University.  Wendy McBaySenior Marketing Director, Reed Construction Data - Moderator Wendy McBay is Senior Director of Marketing at Reed Construction Data, with 18 years of experience in construction industry marketing. Wendy has a background in channel marketing, market research, pricing and marketing communications. She holds an MBA in Marketing from Auburn University and has achieved Six Sigma Green Belt certification. |
