Developments in the areas of mobility, eCommerce and social networking are creating exciting opportunities for individuals and businesses to connect and collaborate. Leading companies are harnessing these technologies to a) transform their value proposition, b) connect and collaborate with supply chain partners, and c) innovate the customer experience. However, factors such as the rapid pace of technology change, the number of decisions and options, and the complexity of the organizational and strategic implications can be daunting. Many wholesale distribution executives are struggling to embrace these developments despite a stated aspiration among CEOs to leverage IT as a competitive weapon.

On this webcast, Guy Blissett, author of “Facing the Forces of Change®: Reimagining Distribution in a Connected World”, will summarize the key research findings and messages around mobility, eCommerce and social networking from this latest report. This will include putting these technologies individually and collectively into context for distributors. Executives from distributors in three different lines of business - Charmer Sunbelt, BDI and Ingram Micro - will then share their activities and perspectives in these areas. Following that will be a discussion with three leading distributors.

Speakers:
Guy A. Blissett, Wholesale Distribution Lead, IBM 
Guy is responsible for managing IBM's business and strategic initiatives within the Wholesale Distribution industry globally. He researches critical issues and trends, develops IBM's point of view on industry imperatives, and engages with distributor executives to help them better leverage technology and accelerate their organizational transformations. Guy is also a Fellow of the NAW Institute for Distribution Excellence, and author of Facing the Forces of Change®: Decisive Actions for an Uncertain Economy (2010). 
 
Steve Grzymkowski, Manager of E-Commerce at BDI, has extensive experience in eCommerce and directs all research, planning, execution and reporting of e-commerce strategies at BDI, including responsibility for an enhanced product shopping experience. Steve is responsible for growing BDI’s e-commerce profile and increasing its e-Business market share

Jeremy Rogers, Director E-Business,  Ingram Micro Mobility  is an accomplished e-commerce leader with broad B2B and B2C expertise. He has led e-business activities, delivering exceptional results and tremendous channel growth as both a commercial stakeholder and technologist, for more than 13 years. His product management, user experience, cross-channel and technology acumen enables companies to exceed customer expectations, deliver competitive advantage, and drive business value online. Prior to joining Ingram Micro, Jeremy held e-commerce leadership positions at BrightPoint and online channel management and merchandising positions with Buy.com and Telstreet.com.
 
Jose Alverez – Director Client Services, Charmer Sunbelt.  In his role, Jose is responsible for all supplier and retailer ecommerce business strategies including EDI, online-ordering, online payments, and is currently the Program Manager for the CSG Mobility Project.
 
During his 11 year tenure, Jose has had various IT/ business roles including Director of Client Services; Director of IT; and Systems Manager. He has been responsible for building and maintaining a variety of capabilities including the One-IT Service desk structure (which handles all end user and application support), and overseeing all IT related functions for Premier Beverage.
