David Aylen
Managing Partner, Gowling WLG Russia/CIS

David is the managing partner of Gowling WLG in Russia. He has more than 30 years of experience in the intellectual property arena, serving clients primarily from the USA and Europe. The first 25 years of his practice were based in Canada, where he acquired the designation of Certified Specialist in Patent, Trademark, and Copyright Law from Ontario’s law society (LSUC). In 2009, he relocated to Gowlings’ office in Moscow. He enjoys helping people from around the globe with all of their Russian IP issues. Presently, he is the only INTA-certified ADR expert for Russia.

Vladislav Ugryumov
Partner, Gowling WLG Russia/CIS

Specializing in patents, Vladislav has extensive experience in patent drafting and prosecution in the pharma/biotech areas before the Russian and Eurasian patent offices and in the CIS. With degrees in both medical science and law, Vlad is regarded as the go-to person in Russia for pharma innovators. He regularly appears as counsel in numerous trials before the Chamber for Patent Disputes and the Russian Commercial Court, particularly with respect to multinational pharma and biotech companies. Prior to joining Gowling WLG, Vlad acquired several years of experience in patent prosecution and the preparation of patentability and freedom-to-operate opinions and due diligence investigations.

Anastassia Sinitsyna
Partner, Gowling WLG Russia/CIS

Anastassia’s practice focuses on all aspects of trade-mark and design prosecution, IP asset management, enforcement, licensing and franchising. She is currently co-ordinating the IP rights portfolio of one of the world’s largest FMCG companies in the CIS region. She works with clients in a wide range of industries, including consumer products, foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals, finance, media and entertainment, automotive and IT. Anastassia also advises brand owners and agencies on legal and regulatory issues associated with advertising and marketing in various media.

Yulia Yarnykh
Associate, Gowling WLG Russia/CIS

Yulia’s practice focuses on intellectual property and corporate matters associated with IP. She advises Russian and foreign clients on a wide range of intellectual property and IT issues, including copyright, trade-marks, know-how, domain names, media, e-commerce and data protection. Additionally, Yulia has experience in commercial IP, advising major foreign investors on structuring their franchise and distribution networks in Russia. She also advises Russian and international companies on information and personal data protection compliance and other regulatory issues. As well, Yulia works on regulatory issues regarding the activities of non-commercial organizations in Russia.
