James D. Herschlein is Co-Chair of the Complex Commercial Litigation Department, and recently completed two terms as a member of the firm's Executive Committee. He has represented some of the world’s largest companies in numerous trials, arbitrations, mediations and appeals throughout the United States focusing on complex contractual disputes and product liability litigation. Jim’s trial experience also includes cases involving securities, derivatives, intellectual property, real estate and bankruptcy claims. A skilled negotiator, he is recognized for “provid[ing] ‘phenomenal value’ to his clients” by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, and by Legal 500.

Jim is also a member of the firm’s Product Liability group and was recently recognized as a Product Liability MVP by Law360 (2012). In addition, the group was named “Best Product Liability Practice” in January 2006 by The American Lawyer and Product Liability Firm of the Year at the 2008 Chambers and Partners “USA Awards for Excellence” ceremony. Jim has won jury verdicts acknowledged by The National Law Journal as among the “Top 10 Defense Wins” in two consecutive years. He has substantial experience representing manufacturers in product liability lawsuits in state and federal courts, including coordinating the nationwide defense and multi-district litigation proceedings of hundreds of cases arising from the recall of medical devices and pharmaceutical products.

P. Anthony Sammi

P. Anthony Sammi concentrates his practice on litigating intellectual property cases,
particularly high-technology patent and trade secret cases, at the trial level.

With a background in electrical engineering and physics, Mr. Sammi has litigated a
broad range of matters involving software, hardware, business method and e-commerce
patents and trade secrets, as well as computer source code copyrights. His
practice also includes counseling both U.S. and multinational clients on evaluating,
licensing and protecting intellectual property portfolios.

Representative technologies that Mr. Sammi has litigated include: digital electronics
and hardware; computer software and source code (HLASM, C++); mobile telephone
and VoIP technology; blood centrifuge devices; satellite on-board computer stability
systems; medical implant devices; sporting equipment; pharmaceuticals; cosmetics;
MPEG video technology; Ethernet connectivity hardware; and digital imaging and

Rajat is a senior U.S. litigator who will manage all aspects of document review intake, operation, and delivery, especially on complex document reviews. Reggie joined Pangea3 in 2010 after litigating at Davis Polk & Wardwell and at Fulbright & Jaworski. During his tenure at those firms, Reggie specialized in litigations involving antitrust, securities, market regulation, internal investigation and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act examinations. Reggie holds a J.D. from Northwestern University and a B.A. from Dartmouth College.
