Oracle Linux Kernel Updates with Zero Downtime
Event Date: 09/20/2011 09:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time
Do you want to improve your Linux uptime? Introduce and remove diagnostic patches without business disruption? Make your Linux environment easier to manage and more secure?

On July 21, 2011, Oracle announced that it has acquired Ksplice, a privately-held company based in Cambridge, MA. Ksplice is the creator of innovative zero downtime update technology for Linux.

The addition of Ksplice's technology will increase the security, reliability and availability of Oracle Linux by enabling customers to apply security updates, diagnostics patches and critical bug fixes without rebooting. Oracle believes it will be the only enterprise Linux provider that can offer zero downtime updates, and expects to make the Ksplice technology a standard feature of Oracle Linux Premier Support for the Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel.

Join this live webcast to hear Wim Coekaerts, Sr.VP Linux and Virtualization Engineering:
  • Talk about benefits of Ksplice patching in an Oracle Linux environment
  • Demonstrate how Ksplice technology will help save money by avoiding downtime and yet remaining compliant with security vulnerability and critical patch updates
  • Present the impact in a multi-tier application environment when applying patches
