James Madison University has won several national awards for developing and using its homegrown assessments of student learning. Employing world-class test developers, Educational Testing Service has created externally developed assessments of student learning for more than 20 years. Many people in higher education would assume that the JMU and ETS approaches are incompatible. But in this webinar we will compare and contrast the two approaches and show that they are complementary. Both organizations will share best practice tips — for both accountability and improvement — that are applicable to all colleges.

As a webinar participant, you will learn:
  • Why your institution needs a unique assessment plan

  • The benefits of home grown and third party assessments

  • How to create a balanced solution for your school

This webinar will feature Javarro Russell, Ph.D., Senior Research Assessment Advisor for the Higher Education division at ETS, and Keston Fulcher, Ph.D., Executive Director of the Center for Assessment and Research Studies at James Madison University (JMU).

This webinar is sponsored by ETS and hosted by The Chronicle of Higher Education. All content presented during the event is provided by ETS.
