Safety and Security – A Common Theme for Mission-Critical Systems

On-demand webcast:
Aired live: April 30, 2019 02:00 PM EDT

With accelerating technology innovation, medical equipment and devices are becoming more sophisticated and more connected. Consequently, as in most mission-critical systems, safety and security are two increasingly vital requirements in medical device design. In April 2018, the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) announced plans to increase regulatory powers over medical device safety, including cybersecurity.

This webinar explores the challenges around safety and security requirements related to medical equipment and other embedded devices, and discusses specific measures to deal with these challenges.

Join Yi Zheng, Senior Product Manager and Embedded Software expert, as she presents BlackBerry QNX’s safety and security solutions for embedded systems.

In this webinar, learn about:
  • The functional safety implications on lower-level components in your medical device
  • How to “design in” security measures for embedded systems
  • The stringent process of qualifying a component to a high safety standard
  • Leading safety and security practices gained from BlackBerry QNX’s experience

Speaker:
Yi Zheng, Senior Product Manager and Embedded Software Expert, BlackBerry QNX

Moderator:
