The Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (AASB) and the JPS Review Committee of The Canadian Bar Association (CBA) have issued an exposure draft that proposes a revised Joint Policy Statement Concerning Communications with Law Firms Regarding Claims and Possible Claims in Connection with the Preparation and Audit of Financial Statements (JPS).

The existing JPS is being revised to reflect developments in the accounting and auditing standards, and the legal environment, over the 35 years since the existing Statement was issued.
