Matthew Cassap
Product Manager ICP-OES, AA

After graduating in chemistry from Anglia Ruskin University in 2001, Matthew performed the analysis and certification of commodities at the British Standards Institute. Matthew then worked for the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (a British government laboratory). During his tenure he supported a number of national and European marine monitoring programs, such as the UK National Marine Mammal Stranding Project. In addition, he also researched the fate of toxic elements in the marine environment.

In 2006 Matthew joined Thermo Fisher Scientific as an applications specialist. In this role he has become an expert in trace element analysis applications across a broad range of industry segments using a range of liquid and solid sampling accessories and hyphenated techniques. In 2012 Matthew assumed responsibility for the Thermo Scientific ICP-OES product line, adding AA to his remit in 2014, and is based at the Thermo Fisher Scientific Center of Excellence in Bremen, Germany.

Christoph Wehe
Product Specialist ICP-MS

Christoph graduated in chemistry at the University of Münster, Germany, in 2010 and continued with a PhD thesis in analytics. His thesis, titled “Pushing Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry to its Limits,” included different approaches to improve the figure of merit of quadrupole-based systems, mostly for hyphenated techniques. During his doctoral studies, Christoph completed several industrial internships and published more than 20 research papers and patents.

In April 2014, Christoph joined Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Product Specialist for ICP-MS, where he supports colleagues and customers worldwide on applicative and technical matters.
