Steve is responsible for IBM's physical security technology which includes an advanced set of computer vision analytics originally conceived and implemented by IBM Research. IBM's state-of-the-art set of physical security solutions can take video as well as transactional data and turn it into business intelligence. Steve has been focused on innovative solutions in physical security to move from passive "after the event " systems to proactive intuitive alerting systems. These systems allow for analysis of historical trends to predict vulnerabilities, threats and patterns that could be indicators of future threats. The solutions that Steve and his team have delivered are not only used for security but also for operational efficiency. Examples of this are understanding customer shopping and buying patterns and managing airline traffic in airports. These solutions maximize the investments in security hardware and systems by being able to cull out important metadata on physical and transactional events. Steve managed the implementation of several world wide initiatives in IBM across Supply Chain, Web Delivery, Sales Knowledge and Finance. Steve has 20 years of engineering and systems deployment experience with IBM.
